Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra will give the first performance of Shard, under the baton of Martyn Brabbins, on Sunday 15 July 2012, 5pm at Cheltenham Town Hall.

As a salute to London ahead of the Olympics, the concert's programme will include works inspired by the capital city including Elgar's Cockaigne, which depicts the multiple characters of London, Vaughan Williams' A London Symphony, Holst's Hammersmith, Ireland's A London Overture and Elgar's Cello Concerto with Steven Isserlis.

Shard is inspired by the latest dramatic addition to London's skyline. See here for more information: M74 | Cheltenham Music Festival
