World Premiere of 'the need / to be shattered & rebuilt'

The world premiere of Kansas City Symphony's Genesis project brings together seven composers responding to the seven days of creation, including Hannah's the need / to be shattered & rebuilt, which was written in response to the fourth day. The title is taken from an Ocean Vuong poem. Performances take place at Helzberg Hall on 29, 30, and 31 May, conducted by Matthias Pintscher. The other composers featured in the project are Lisa Streich, Francesco Filidei, Chen Yi, Mikel Urquiza, Saad Haddad, and Mark Andre. The European premiere will take place on 9 October with the Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks and Matthias Pintscher.
